A born and raised Boricua, Joy Figueroa is in the 3rd generation of a hospitality service family. (Wepa!)
Growing up, her family ran the bar Cafe Seda in Old San Juan. From there, she learned bartending at The Ritz Carlton Puerto Rico, and has worked behind the bar all the way from sunny South Beach, Miami, to the beautiful Hawaiian Islands.
After moving to Las Vegas, she worked her way up from a Cosmopolitan barback and has been the Lead Bartender at concepts run by “Cake Boss” Buddy Valastro and Chef Lorena Garcia at Chica. She is formerly the Corporate Bar Manager of the award-winning team at Herbs & Rye and Cleaver, led by Nectaly Mendoza. She is now the General Manager of their new, upcoming concept Morning News.
If she had one piece of advice for budding professionals, she says: "Don't ever be afraid of new beginnings or starting from the bottom, because hard work will always be rewarded."
